Bee Buzziness - the latest from the beekeeping world - Varroa, have the Californians found the solution?
If you keep bees then you will know that demand for good local honey is high, both from individuals and from shops. The biggest mistake that most hobby beekeepers make is underpricing their honey . Whilst you may not have the overheads of commercial beekeepers it does everyone a disservice to sell too cheap and so make sure you price your honey to reflect the quality product it is.
Fortunately, with honey being the type of product it is there are fewer regulations than with many other food products. It is however vital that if you are to sell your honey you make sure you comply with the law.
